Knitting News

Thanks so much for the nice comments. They really made me realize that hey, maybe Blogger isn't really that bad. I dunno, maybe it was just a glitch in the matrix or tons of people were trying to upload at the exact same time as me. But anyway, here are the pics that I wanted to upload a while back.

This is the Icarus Shawl from the lates IK. If you look at the pic again, you'll see that it's halfway off the needle. I don't know how that happened, but that project has been stopped. The yarn that I was using was Kid Mohair or something or other that's a real pain to frog. Oh well. I have restarted it in Knit Picks Gossamer color Sweet Peas and I'm at about row 25.

Here's the cabled baby blanket. I tried kniting a plain SS blanket but they (yes, I tried more than one time) became boring too quickly and i usually got 1/3 of the way through before I quit them. Off to the frog pond they go! The cables keep me interested enough and I am now about 1/3 done and not tired of knitting it yet!

These are the socks that I am working on.
1. LL colorway Cool sz 1 Majic loop method
2. Trekking XXL dark blues sz 0 majic loop method
3. Regia Cotton fushia, yellow, Orange sx 2 DPN Jaywalker anklettes
4.Opal colorway "Docktor Fish" sx 1 DPN Jaywalkers

I have aslo started a few other socks. One is using the "Dragon Skin Lace" and the other sock is grass green with blue toes and heels (a gift, but I really want to keep it!)
The pic is sideways and I don't know how to fix it. Maybe I'll figure that out later.I'm thinking about posting the pattern here. What do you guys think?

I joined the International Tote Exchange and I have an idea of what my pal likes. I'm knitting a trial bag now to work out the kinks. Pics on that is sure to come. That's all for now!!

What's Better Than Blogger?

For some reason, when I REALLY want to upload pics, I can't. Not because of me, but because Blogger sucks. Maybe I should try Live Journal, or something else. I dunno. If Blogger lets me, I'll post pics tomorrow.

What's Goin On

Theres a bunch of great KALs going on. I just joined 3, the ISE , Sock Wars , and Ornamental, which I participated in last year. Ornamental was so much fun. I can't wait to do it again this year.

On the needles:

2 pairs of Jaywalker socks
1 pair of ankle lenght Trekking XXL socks
1 pair of Pomatoma whatevers from Knitty.com
1 cabled baby blanket (pattern my own)
1 "secret cardi" for me, will be done by the fall
1 Icarus shawl ( it fell off the needles, I'm not sure if I want to fix it :( )
1 Trellis (largest size, from Knitty.com)

I think that's about it.... until I c/o for another project. Hmm.. maybe I have knitters ADD. LOL. Oh well :)

I'll post pics tomorrow...

Happy Knitting!!

KSKS

WOW! What can I say? My KSKS Pal really out did herself!I was very open to basically any color she would send. So.... here it is!

She sent a cute card, a note pad with graph paper in it so I can make patterns, 3 types of chocolate, tea, the *cutest* felted bag ever and orange Opal. I absolutely Love It!! My Pal was Lori
Check out her blog! When she posted on the KSKS page about her project being finished, I silently wished it was mine. To my suprise, it really was mine!! Thanks so much!!!

Here is my kit that i will be sending out first thing in the am, well after I go to the LYS. I'm having doubts about the color yarn I was going to send. I'm following my instincts and picking another color. I sewed a little bag with a pocket on the inside as well as a pocket on the outside , which is sized for holding DPN's. I also made a mini needle holder for her spare DPN's and also a little baggy that contains 6 stitch markers. With all that, she also gets a few goodies. I hope she likes it all.

These past few weeks have been VERY hectic. I have tons of pics to post, but they will have to wait for another day.

So far, I have completed everything for my KSKS except pick out the *perfect* yarn for my buddy. I enjoyed making her the bag and coming up with the pattern myself. It was hard work, but I thouroughly enjoyed the experience. That's all for now!

WOO!!

This is what my Knitters Review Secret Pal Carrie sent me. The yarn is hand painted silk merino blend by Twisted Sisters, a card telling me about herself, in the little baggy there's Burt's Bees hand salve and Shimmer, a cute little pair of earings and conversation magents (I forgot to take a pic of them). Thanks so much!! I loved every last thing!

This id what my Dye o rama buddy sent me. I love, love, love the color. Lately I've been wearing TONS of hot pink. It's about 560 yards of dk weight goodness which will become something very loved. this was dyed by Erin. Thanks so much!!

Since I joined Trekking Along, I had to get more Trekking XXL. I ordered it from Littleknits.com . The Opal I picked up at a yarn store in Ct. I can't wait to knit with it. I've heard some good stories about it. I think I'm going to knit another pair of Jaywalkers out of it.

Here's Tigre!

Have a nice day!!
